Celebrity Producers, Wine Influencers, and a New Interactive Map of Italy to Entertain Italian Wine Podcast Listeners

After fashion designer Renzo Rosso, the Italian Wine Podcast welcomes another international celebrity, who got into the wine business after falling in love with the island of Pantelleria in the Mediterranean, off the coasts of Sicily: French diva Carole Bouquet, who starred in over fifty films since the mid-seventies, made Pantelleria her home and took up wine-making to produce Passito di Pantelleria in her winery Sangue d'Oro.

VERONA, Italy (PRWEB) August 01, 2018

In the interview with Monty Waldin, Bouquet speaks of her previous career in the world of cinema and advertising—most famously, she played a Bond Girl in the 1989 James Bond movie For your eyes only and modeled for top fashion brands such as Chanel. Bouquet, who defines herself a “city girl,” tells Waldin of her breakthrough in acting that happened when she was eighteen. Indeed, while attending the national school of acting in Paris, Bouquet was selected for Luis Bunuel’s famous movie That obscure object of desire.

On the other hand, her forays into the wine world started when she turned forty and fell in love with Pantelleria, which she defines the “front door of Orient… but at the same time very Italian.” Bouquet, who is very interested also in the history of viticulture and wine-making on the island, had always admired Pantelleria’s landscape of terraced vineyards and its volcanic soil, to the point that she decided to put down roots there by gradually buying land. “I wanted a piece of land, and I never wanted that before, and I was 40 at that time,” she tells Waldin, “I decided (because I am a real city girl) to put down roots in Pantelleria, as if I belonged there more than in any place in the world. Even though I was not Italian, that was my way—I am so in love with Italy!—to dare to say that I was Italian.” Bouquet’s winery, Sangue d’Oro, produces Passito di Pantelleria from Moscato di Alessandria grapes and was selected also by Wine Spectator for the OperaWine Grand Tasting 2018 in Verona, Italy. Listeners interested in discovering stories behind other producers of Sicilian wine can tune in to the series on Sicily.

In addition to famous wine producers, the Italian Wine Podcast also hosts key players in the wine business, and recently dedicated a series of podcasts to three influencer marketing projects that exploit the popularity of Instagram and other social media to promote wine. Waldin’s interviews with Andrea Albagli (@cor_vino), Stefano Quaglierini (@italian_wines), and the @cantinasocial trio Adriano Amoretti, Matteo Franco, and John Murnane dig deeper into the field of influencer marketing for the wine sector and into their different approaches to digital communication. Currently every Tuesday the Italian Wine Podcast is broadcasting a series of podcasts on Sagrantino wine producers in Umbria; on Wednesday, Waldin meets other wine producers coming from all over Italy, in particular from wine regions such as Campania, Puglia, Sardinia.

The Italian Wine Podcast team recently launched a new interactive map of Italy that allows listeners to browse through the stories of Italian wine producers region by region. This digital map is available on the podcast website. By clicking on each Italian region, listeners are redirected to the stories of great wines and their producers grouped together according to their location in Italy. With around 300,000 companies involved in wine-making across Italy and with its biodiversity, the Italian wine world may seem difficult to decode at times. The digital map tool for podcasts helps locate producers and discover the regional attachments and affiliations of Italian wines.

About:
Italian Wine Podcast: Cin Cin with Italian Wine People! is a new podcast project dedicated exclusively to the Italian wine world. Wine writer Monty Waldin uncovers the unique Italian wine-making tradition in conversation with some of its key protagonists. Italian Wine Podcast aims to inform, educate, and entertain listeners about Italian wine. Italian Wine Podcast is available on SoundCloud, iTunes, XimalayaFM (for China) and on the official website. New Documentary Sells Out Theaters as it Strives to Change Public Perception of Sicily

In Buffalo, NY, Hamilton, Ontario, and Kansas City, MO, Marcusceccu Investors LLC and filmmaker Mark Spano deliver more than their film's sponsors in each city expected.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (PRWEB) August 02, 2018

When the Italian Cultural Center of Buffalo, New York (ICCB), the Federation of Italian-American Societies of Western New York (FASWNY), and the Per Niente Club of Buffalo sponsored a special screening of Marcusceccu Investors’ new feature-length documentary “Sicily: Land of Love and Strife” by Mark Spano, they didn’t know what to expect.

Would the general public accept the contention that there’s more to the three-sided island than its much-publicized relationship to organized crime?

Would a film devoted solely to Sicily be compelling enough to Buffalo’s Italian-American community?

When advance tickets sold out, bringing in $11,000 before the film had been screened, the Buffalo sponsors knew they’d made the right decision.

So did Sicilia Canta, the Cinema Insieme film club, the Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF), and  Festitalia, all in Hamilton, Ontario, whose screening also sold out their theater of choice and brought in $10,000.

In Kansas City, Missouri, where writer/producer/director Mark Spano held the U.S. premiere, the theatre there also sold out. And as with each sold-out showing, Spano, a native of Kansas City whose parents were first-generation Sicilian immigrants, was thrilled.

“Holding the premiere in my hometown gave me the opportunity to present my film to a very diverse Middle-American audience,” he said. “Their responses were both informative and heartwarming. The theater was sold out and the crowd loved the film. I was truly humbled by their responses.”

According to Spano, “Sicily: Land of Love and Strife” celebrates the island nation’s “natural beauty, its passionate people and epic human struggles, the depth and diversity of its culture, the philosophic insights that originated there, and its wealth of historic sites – all facets of Sicily that have been obscured by the mysterious country’s association with organized crime.” He hopes the documentary he worked on for three years will change public perception of his family’s homeland.

Frank Cherrito, former president of UNICO’s Kansas City chapter (2009-2011), remembers when the enthusiastic filmmaker first told him about the documentary he wanted to make.

"Mark came to us with an idea,” Cherrito recalled. “Although it wasn't really clear to us, the vision he had for this wonderful film was crystal clear to him. And it proved to be an incredible fundraiser for our organization. Many people came out to support the film primarily, I think, because it highlights the Italian-American culture in a positive way."

Sam Cino and Joe Baiardo of Sicilia Canta and Charles Criminisi of Cinema Insieme praised the documentary as “beautifully created with breathtaking images and a captivating soundtrack. Diverse perspectives on the history, culture and norms of Sicilian life were presented by international scholars and authorities who introduced facts that were unknown to many about this beautiful three-sided island. Feedback from many of the 300 viewers was very favorable.”

To date, two more special screenings and one theatrical run of “Sicily: Land of Love and Strife” are scheduled with several more are in the works.

·      The New York City premiere will be held in the Bernie Wohl Center on Columbus Avenue on Wednesday, September 12.
·      The Triangle Sons and Daughters of Italy, Lodge 2817, in Cary, North Carolina, will host a screening on Sunday, November 11.
·      North Park Theatre in Buffalo, NY, will offer a theatrical run in August 2018.

Westdale Theater, a soon-to-open art house in Hamilton, Ontario, is also planning a theatrical run. (Date TBA)

Spano noted that communities interested in hosting a screening of his film should contact Debbie Valentine: bullockvalentine(at)gmail(dot)com.

Europe’s NPL Market – Especially in Italy and Greece – Offers an Attractive Opportunity for New Investors in Search of Yield and Favourable Valuations

Ahead of this year’s 4th annual Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum (MR&H), Thanos Papasavvas CFA, Founder & CIO, ABP Invest, delivers an in-depth analysis on the issues and opportunities available to investors looking at non-performing loans in Europe’s hospitality sector.

(PRWEB) August 02, 2018

Ahead of this year’s 4th annual Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum (MR&H), Thanos Papasavvas CFA, Founder & CIO, ABP Invest, delivers an in-depth analysis on the issues and opportunities available to investors looking at non-performing loans in Europe’s hospitality sector.

A unique tourism and business destination, the Mediterranean (from Southern and South-Eastern Europe to North Africa and the Levant) is a major attraction for investors in search for new projects but the diversity of market conditions across the region makes investment in real estate a challenging business. MR&H will provide hospitality investors and key market stakeholders a complete overview of the region’s different investment climates, regulatory frameworks and targeted opportunities through panel presentations, interactive discussions and keynote presentations such as Papasavvas’ economic keynote overview where he will present the macroeconomic trends impacting the Mediterranean region as well as prospects for growth.

In this exclusive report, Papasavvas shares his sentiment on the NPL market in Europe, stating: “The more liquid the NPL market becomes the more it entices new potential investors as well as offloading debt from banks' balance sheets allowing them to utilise their capital more productively.

At Eur 813bn the EU's NPL market is an obstacle to a strong recovery as it impedes new credit for working capital and investment. On the other hand, NPLs also provide the opportunity of creating a new and viable secondary market, attracting new investors in search of yield and favourable valuations.”

Papasavvas takes a deeper look at Italy and Greece in the report, as they are the only two countries in the region with both a high volume and high ratio of NPLs. “Italy has built a strong momentum of reducing its NPLs over the past few years which is at risk of stalling following recent political developments, whereas Greece has only recently started to address the issues with some encouraging structural changes and signs of political support. The real estate and hotel sector in Greece is at the epicentre of these developments.”

Papasavvas returns to the stage for the second year by popular demand, to lead the economic overview keynote at MR&H entitled “The Economic Perspective: The Finer Details on the Big Picture.” Meet with Papasavvas and 300 senior leaders across the hospitality and tourism sectors at MR&H, which is being held 17-19 October 2018 at The Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso in Athens, Greece. The Advanced Rate is available through 6 September 2018, so we encourage you to secure your seat today.

While his keynote at MR&H in 2017 largely addressed the rift in geopolitics, the complacency of investors and correctly forecast the upsurge in market volatility, his presentation this year in Athens will focus on “the changing geopolitical landscape, the frictions it creates and how policy makers will try to safeguard the economy. We will also discuss why China would win a trade war against the US, what would Trump's second term in office mean for the world economy and last but not least how does all this come together for this region and sector. I am delighted to have been invited for a second year to address this prestigious event and look forward to continuing our discussion in Athens.”

SPOTTED: Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone on a secret romantic getaway, video goes viral!

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have had their fair share of time in the news the past few weeks, with rumours being rife about their impending nuptials. While the skeptics out there still believe that there is no truth to these, we’d like to believe otherwise. That belief just keeps getting stronger, especially with reports like these.

While it was never a huge secret that Ranveer and Deepika were close, ‘how close’ was always the question. Well, the two indirectly told everybody that they’re ‘pretty’ close when they were spotted hand-in-hand on a secret vacation.

The two were seen exploring one of the theme park attractions in Orlando, Florida. The Harry Potter related attractions were clearly visible in the background, suggesting that they were either at Disneyland or Universal Studios. Regardless, the two seemed to be having a pleasant day. They also co-ordinated with their outfits, both rocking some white comfort wear and sunglasses. Deepika even beckoned to Ranveer and pulled him along with her.

A post shared by Deepika Padukone (@magicaldeepikapadukone) on Aug 1, 2018 at 10:28am PDT

However, they weren’t able to hide themselves from their fans, who took to social media to share pictures and videos of the two. They started gushing over how adorable the two looked, and one fan even asked Deepika for a picture as she approached her. While we will never know whether she got that picture, we could safely say, we’d react the same. Deepika’s sister, Anisha, was also spotted with them in one of the videos.

A post shared by Deepika Padukone (@magicaldeepikapadukone) on Aug 1, 2018 at 10:35am PDT

There is no official word yet on whether the two are actually supposed to tie the knot in the rumoured November wedding. Reports suggest that the Bajirao Mastani stars will have an extravagant do and wed at Lake Como in Italy. Based on sightings like these, we hope that the two don’t keep things a secret much longer.
