A’ Design Award & Competition today announced the last call for entries for the annual International A’ Aircraft Design Awards (AIRA). The A’ Aircraft Design Awards were established to celebrate and recognize outstanding design solutions which lead to significant advancements in aircraft design and technology. The A’ Aircraft Design Award is unique as it focuses more on visual aesthetics, human and social factors.
Entries to the A' Aircraft Design Awards are accepted under distinct categories such as aeronautics, aircraft propulsion, avionics, aviation systems, aviation business, commercial air transport, and space aviation. Furthermore, interior designs of aircraft as well as service design projects within the aviation industry are especially called to participate in the accolades. Entries to the A’ Aircraft Design Awards are peer reviewed and blind judged by an expert jury panel of prominent design professionals, established academics and influential press members. The decision of the jury shall be final. Aircraft designs will be judged based on performance, comfort, ergonomics, aerodynamics, features, maintenance requirements and visual appeal. Nominated aircraft designs will not be tested since the A’ Aircraft Design Awards allows also entries of conceptual designs.
Awards will be presented at a black-tie reception in Como Lake / Italy, on August 9, 2014. Aircraft designers and manufacturers worldwide are invited to submit their nominations according to the guidelines of nomination rules and regulations at http://www.adesignaward.com with a firm deadline of March 30, 2014. Results will be announced earlier on April 15, 2014.
Winners of the A’ Aircraft Design Awards will receive the special 3D printed award trophy, annual catalog of best designs, the certificate for design excellence, as well as poster exhibition in Italy and inclusion in online award winning works’ gallery. Furthermore winning design descriptions will be translated to over twenty languages and communicated to tens of thousands of editors worldwide for true international reach.
