Mission Federal ArtWalk, San Diego’s premier arts and music cultural event, celebrates its 30th anniversary and welcomes the community to San Diego’s Little Italy on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 from 11am to 6pm. The public is invited to enjoy the art and performances of artists, musicians and dancers. Children and their families are also encouraged to visit KidsWalk in Amici Park, where kids can create their own works of art.
According to Debra Schwartz, president and CEO of Mission Federal Credit Union: “As the largest, locally based financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, Mission Fed is delighted to support this free community event that brings more than 300 visual and performing artists out of buildings and into the neighborhood of Little Italy so that everyone can enjoy them.”
The public will have the opportunity to win one of two original paintings created by Mission Federal ArtWalk artists. To enter, participants must fill out an entry form at any of Mission Federal Credit Union’s 24 local branches now through April 26, or stop by Mission Fed’s information booth at the event.
Throughout the weekend of Mission Federal ArtWalk, booths will line the streets of San Diego’s historic neighborhood of Little Italy, showcasing the paintings, sculpture and other artwork of artists from around the San Diego community. Selected streets will be closed to traffic so that pedestrians can browse through the booths, meet some of the artists and visit KidsWalk. Several stages throughout the neighborhood will feature local musicians, dancers and other performers.
San Diego’s Interim Mayor Todd Gloria recently recognized the festival’s cultural contribution and milestone 30th anniversary with an official city proclamation.
