The 2014 Rooftop Film Festival will bring some of the top hits of this year's Sundance Film Festival to the New York skyline.
The 18th annual edition of the summer screening series will kick off with a series of short films on May 16. On May 17, there will be a special sneak screening of Gillian Robespierre's critically acclaimed comedy “Obvious Child.” The film stars Jenny Slate as a struggling stand-up comedian who gets pregnant after a one-night stand. The film first premiered in Park City in January, and was bought by A24 Films.

Other films from Sundance that will screen at Rooftop include “The Skeleton Twins,” a Kristen Wiig-Bill Hader dramedy; “Cold in July,” the dark drama from Jim Mickle starring Michael C. Hall (which will play at Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight); “Happy Christmas,” a Joe Swanberg film starring Anna Kendrick and Lena Dunham; “Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter,” a quirky Zellner Brothers drama starring Rinko Kikuchi; “The One I Love,” the Charlie McDowell feature debut starring Mark Duplass and Elisabeth Moss; “The Trip to Italy,” the sequel to the Steve Coogan-Rob Brydon road trip comedy; and coming-of-age comedy “Ping Pong Summer.”
A number of documentaries will also screen at the festival, including the intriguing-sounding “Giuseppe Makes a Movie.” The doc centers on a man who has made dozens of no-budget films with friends and neighbors living in his trailer park.
