White Stallion Ranch: One of the Most Exclusive Gated Communities in California.
Hidden Valley, CA (PRWEB) May 07, 2014
For most of Southern California, the mention of Hidden Valley draws a blank. "Do you mean Hidden Hills?" people ask? "Is that the place where they make salad dressing?" others query. The answer is "no."
Hidden Valley is one of Southern California's best kept secrets, and many prefer that it stay that way. It is an affluent equestrian community made up of ranches ranging from 20 acres to 2,000 acres, blessed by a perfect Mediterranean climate and cool sea breezes.
This little known Shangri-La is home to the rich and famous. Ellen DeGeneres bought a ranch there, just a few miles from what was once Italian bombshell Sophia Loren's estate. Nearby you will find a 2,000 acre Arabian horse ranch owned by billionaire David Murdock, as well as estates owned by Tom Selleck, Jamie Foxx, Britney Spears, and many others. Past residents have included Dean Martin, Pete Sampras, Kelsey Grammer, Wayne Gretzky, and Lisa Marie Presley.
Although we're not going to tell you exactly where Hidden Valley is, we will tell you that it's located in Ventura County, just eight miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. Because of its bucolic country look without being truly "remote" (it's less than 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles, minutes from shopping, and hosts a Country Club with an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course), it has become a popular retreat as well as filming location for the Los Angeles film industry.
Best known for its scenic rolling foothills dotted with majestic oak trees, picturesque horse farms, galloping stallions, long horned cattle, black sheep, and miles of white fencing, this quaint farming area has been compared with Vermont, and has been described as "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" meets "The Sound of Music".
Budweiser chose a Hidden Valley farm for its charming 2014 Super Bowl commercial, "Puppy Love", which features the relationship between a new puppy and a clydesdale horse.
Other commercial producers have chosen Hidden Valley as their location of choice for the fabulous estates available as film locations. Toyota chose an Italian Palladian-style villa on 21 acres in a private gated community known as White Stallion Ranch for its hilarious Super Bowl commercial depicting a wealthy young man who finds a family of badgers on the front seat of his Corolla. The estate, which was bedecked with butlers, servants, maids, and a cannon for the commercial shoot, was chosen by Toyota as much for the expansive land as for the commanding villa. The estate offered room for numerous production trucks, craft services wagons, and even a helicopter.
This same Italian villa has been the go-to location for numerous Hollywood producers looking for mansions for their uber rich film characters. With its European architecture, putting greens, tennis court, infinity pool, pool house with marble kitchen, 3,500 bottle wine cellar, 30 foot ceilings, 7 fireplaces and more, the villa could well be in France, Italy, Greenwich CT, or even....Hidden Valley!
Currently listed for sale at $10.5 million, it seems like a steal when you consider that in 2006 the list price was $15.5 million. It appears you can still capture "The Good Life", at a discount, at least until the real estate market recovers.
