In-Home Care Franchise Gains Foothold Across Europe, Asia and The Americas

Omaha, NE (PRWEB) October 17, 2014

The world is rapidly aging and, more and more, members of this population want to spend their senior years independently in the comfort of their own homes. These demographic and social shifts continue to drive the demand for in-home care and assistance, such as that provided by Right at Home. The demand is so great, in fact, that Right at Home has swiftly grown to provide care to elderly and disabled adults across five continents through more than 400 locally owned locations worldwide.

The majority of that growth has come in 2014, as Right at Home almost doubled its presence outside of the United States, opening pilot offices in Australia in April, Japan in July, and signing its master franchisee for The Netherlands in September. Right at Home’s most recent partner, Peter van de Burgt, intends to open his Right at Home pilot office in The Netherlands at the beginning of 2015.

Right at Home’s system continues to not only establish new international territories, but it is also increasing its market share of the home care industry within its existing markets. Right at Home’s Canadian system just opened its 12th location and recently signed three new franchise territories in a three-week span to continue expansion in Ontario and Alberta. The company next will focus its expansion efforts on development across British Columbia.

“In key countries across the Americas, Asia and Europe, we find tremendous opportunities to provide the same quality in-home care and assistance that we have pioneered for the ageing and disabled in the United States,” said Right at Home CEO Brian Petranick. “In addition to the changes occurring in our world’s demographics, there have been significant changes in societal norms, economics and cultures, as well as advancements in medicine and pharmaceuticals that have resulted in increased life expectancies. All of these factors are creating significant needs for people wanting the best for their families. Right at Home strives to bring its unique RightCare approach to in-home care to these markets and provide exceptional experiences for our clients and their families.”

Estimates from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) have found that by 2050, more than 2 billion people will be age 60 or older. Separate studies in growth markets for Right at Home have found that, over the next several decades, people 65 and older could make up at least one-quarter of the population in Australia, Germany and Japan. With successful offices already operating in Australia and Japan, the franchise organization has been able to shift its full recruitment efforts on Germany, a high-priority market due to its quickly shifting population.

“While the demand for Right at Home is growing across the United States and around the world, we are confident that we can meet this need to provide elderly and disabled loved ones the right care based on the strength of our franchisees and their dedicated staffs,” said Blake Martin, Vice President of International Operations for Right at Home. “Our recent success in China and the United Kingdom serves as a model for caring for families wherever we will be needed in the future.”

Right at Home United Kingdom’s successes were recently recognized by the British Franchise Association (BFA), which presented the team with its Emerging Franchisor of the Year award. Ken Deary, a veteran within the franchise industry and previous recipient of the BFA’s Franchisee of the Year award, manages and directs Right at Home’s expansion in the United Kingdom, including the brand’s projected expansion into Northern Ireland and Scotland in 2015. Since entering the United Kingdom in 2010, Right at Home has expanded consistently and is on pace to surpass 30 locations.

The brand was also the first U.S.-based senior-care franchise to enter China, where the company increased its annual system-wide revenue 178 percent in 2013. China is not alone, as Right at Home was also the first American brand to provide elder and disabled care and assistance in Brazil, where the brand is now operating its second location.

The outlook for Right at Home’s market growth continues to be strong as Right at Home’s Ireland master franchisee, David McKone, begins expanding his Irish system in late 2014, after completing an intensive Executive System Expansion training at Right at Home headquarters in Omaha, Neb. McKone has completed the ISO accreditation program in Ireland, which is likely to encourage strong strategic partnerships and opportunities across the country.

In addition to its growth in individual markets, Right at Home continues to support the home care industry, most recently through announcing its partnership with the International Alliance of Carer Organizations (IACO), the first and only international coalition dedicated specifically to providing resources and advocacy for family caregivers at an international level. Right at Home plans to work closely with IACO to help learn, implement and promote the best practices for caregivers across the world.

Right at Home’s strong master franchisee and industry partnerships have spurred incredible growth, solidifying a robust foundation upon which Right at Home can continue to build as it begins to develop in top countries of interest, including Spain, Italy, Portugal and Germany.
