New book examines how the human brain processes images.
Los Angeles (PRWEB) November 07, 2014
Due to the brain’s neurological process, the only face the human mind is incapable of seeing is our own.
In her inspiring new book, “You Are Photogenic” author and professional photographer Pina Di Cola explores the physics of the human visual system with graphs and photographs.
“My research indicates that because of the way the brain and neurological systems function, you are unable to see your face and body in their totality,” Di Cola says. “If you rely only on your reflection in the mirror, you don’t know what you really look like.”
“You are Photogenic” studies the importance of how people see each other and how emotions and facial expressions form individual beauty.
Individuals base the idea of who they are and how they see themselves on how others see them paired with the reflection they see in the mirror. As a result, self-image is constantly being constructed from subjective, external impressions.
Spotlighting the unique theory known as Photo-image, Di Cola affirms that the true importance is to know what we look based on Photo-image.
