The streets of Milan were flooded after the Lambro and Seveso rivers burst their banks, causing train delays and cancellations in and out of the city. This footage shows torrents of water cascading down a staircase in Garibaldi train station on Wednesday evening:
A section of the towpath alongside the Naviglio Pavese canal in downtown Milan collapsed due to the flooding. While the level of the Seveso river had dropped on Thursday, the Lambro remained high.
