The new Narconon drug rehab in Central Italy joins more than 100 other rehabilitation and prevention groups in the Narconon network.

Because the abuse of drugs and alcohol is a worldwide problem, whenever a new drug rehab with a proven record of success is opened, it's very good news. The new Narconon Argo center in Central Italy welcoming local dignitaries, guests and friends to their grand opening celebration was exactly this kind of happy occasion.
On November 23, 2014, Narconon Argo, a non-profit corporation, joined more than 100 other drug rehabilitation and prevention organizations in the Narconon network, spread across six continents, including Russia, Taiwan, Mexico, Sweden and the United States. In Italy alone, there are six Narconon drug rehabilitation facilities.
The director of this center, Paul Corneli, greeted local officials such as the Mayor of Borgorose Mariano Calisse and a local cleric, Father Nazzareno, and invited them to tour the facilities where Narconon staff work 24/7 to help people reclaim sober, productive lives.
"It is wonderful to be welcomed so warmly to this community," said Mr. Corneli. "Our neighbors understand that we offer a solution to those who have lost their way due to drug use."
The Narconon program was founded in 1966 by an Arizona inmate who discovered the humanitarian works of American author L. Ron Hubbard. By studying Mr. Hubbard's books, inmate William Benitez realized he had recovered his own ability to leave drugs behind and dedicated himself to helping other inmates recover their sobriety. After he left prison, he founded the first Narconon freestanding rehab facility in Los Angeles.
Mayor Calisse offered a speech welcoming the center to Spedino, Borgorose in the mountains of Central Italy, not far from Rome. He stressed that drug prevention lessons are essential to educate young people how to live without drugs. He also announced that the council hall will be offered for local school drug education lectures.
Father Nazzareno blessed the center and prayed for the success of Narconon staff and students.
"We're delighted to welcome Narconon Argo to our Narconon family," said Clark Carr, president of Narconon International in Los Angeles. "With all the new synthetic drugs on the market, there has never been a greater need for effective drug rehabilitation or a successful prevention curriculum like Narconon has. We wish Argo every success."
The Narconon drug rehabilitation program is a long-term, residential program that focuses on helping each person recover from the physically damaging effects of drug use, then rebuild life skills each will need to live a sober, ethical life.
