When Tech and Online Global Media Collide
SOHO, London (PRWEB) December 03, 2014
On November 22nd-23rd Condé Nast International held their first-ever hackathon powered by AngelHack at the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design. Over 50 developers gathered, some coming from as far as Italy and Lithuania, to create technologies that would impact and change the publishing industry. A total of eleven teams participated and competed for mentorship from CNI and WIRED 2015 conference tickets. What was created at this hackathon was nothing short of amazing.
F’Nito, the winning team, produced a concept that explores the area of creative storytelling that enhances the mobile content consumption experience. This enables the user to listen to an article, with audio picking up where the text leaves off, so the user can switch content formats to accompany them through the day.
This not only accounts for the person who is constantly on the go but also for those who still hold value in reading it themselves opening this product to a broad demographic. Users of F’Nito can choose from all CNI content which features magazines such as GQ, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Traveller, WIRED and Vouge.
Pictured are members of the winning team; Gareth Cole, Tom Barnes, Alexis Cuddyre and Lauren Smith who were working with Any Barefoot, Chief Creative Technologist at Condé Nast Verlag. Coming in at second runner up and runner up were teams Qurate and Sentimental Editor.
“The Condé Nast International Hackathon is a testament to the power of programmers. Our hacker community can leverage their skills and apply them to any industry and catapult that industry into the 21st Century,” said Sabeen Ali, CEO and co-founder of AngelHack.
“What came out of it was great. The most revolutionary idea that no one would have ever thought of,” said Marcus Uhal when talking about the hackathon and ideas that were produced over the 36 hour event. Reported by PRWeb 6 hours ago.
