Member society awards scholarships to help cover costs of programs abroad.

(PRWEB) August 31, 2013

Honorsociety.org has announced the recipients of the member society's study abroad scholarship. The four scholarship recipients are: Algenia from University of Alabama, Daniela from University of Washington, Albert from Iowa State University and Michael from James Madison University.

The scholarship is intended to help offset the price of a life-changing experience of studying abroad. HonorSociety.org reviews applications of all members in order to choose its recipients. Requirements include an official transcript and verification in the program selected. The requirements are intended to ensure members are enrolled in legitimate study abroad programs and to help protect from scams. The credibility of trustworthy study abroad programs combined with program dues and costs help determine if it's worth it.

Below is more information on the recipients:

Algenia, University of Alabama. Study abroad in Florence, Italy
"This is a perfect study abroad option for me. I am majoring in ‘international studies’ with a minor in ‘Italian.’ This program is extremely relevant to my major because in order to get the degree, I must partake in at least one study abroad program as an undergraduate and have a minor in a foreign language. With my minor being Italian, this course fits perfectly. Earning this scholarship means so much to my family and I."

Daniela, University of Washington. Study abroad in Rome, Italy
"Health in the context of Italian culture is a study abroad program that combines my passions for health and the law."

Albert, Iowa State University. Study abroad in Rome, Italy.
"The Rome Study Abroad program from Iowa State is offered to students with an interest towards design. We will visit the temples and archeological sites right after learning about them in history class. Being able to see the real thing right after learning about it will help us understand it better than reading about it from a book. While I can list numerous benefits this program will have on my academic career, I also believe it will contribute to my personal development."

Michael, James Madison University. Study abroad in London, England.
"This summer I had an incredible opportunity to Study Abroad in the center of London with a group of about 23 people who study Liberal Arts. During this 2-month period I was able to experience the historic beauty of England. This was the experience of a lifetime and I thank Honorsociety.org for awarding me a scholarship!"
