Dave Lutz, head of Exchange Traded Funds at JonesTrading, has a quick overview of what traders are watching right now:

· Here comes economic data. The third estimate of third-quarter GDP, initial jobless claims, and personal consumption and income numbers all cross early in Thursday's trading session.
· Trading is expected to be slow again, as Wall Street thins out for the holidays. "Volumes are horrific," Lutz writes. Futures are lower but little changed as Dow 20,000 watch continues.

Here's Lutz:

Good Morning!   US Futures are slightly lower ahead of a Ton of data today as things get pulled forward from tomorrow.   Mixed bag across Europe, with Basic resources and Tech leading to upside – while Fins are slightly higher as Monte gets a state bailout in Italy, helping the MIB jump 70bp early.   London lagging as base metal prices weigh on Miners, hitting the FTSE for 20bp.  Volumes are horrific, with the DAX and FTSE trading 50% their normal Volumes.   Subdued trading in Asia, where Hong Kong lost 80bp - China gained 10bp - Nikkei lost 10bp led by Fins, and Aussie climbed 50bp to fresh 2016 peaks led by Fins.  Emerging stocks hit a one-month low as South Korea’s Won and Taiwan’s Dollar hit multi-month lows, and Turnover quiet as Markets in Tokyo will be closed on Friday for the Japanese Emperor's birthday.

Yields are breaking higher, with Bund Yields finally rising as the ECB wound down their buy-program yesterday – Helping Treasury yields move back over 2.55%.   The DXY is drifting off small, as Euro continues to retrace as Buba calls for ECB hikes, while eyes remain on that Aussie$ as it resumes retreat on Trump Trade appointments.   Commodities having a rough morning, with Copper hit for 1% to 1month lows – following Ore which dropped 5% in China as high inventories weigh.  Oil breaking down a touch from 1+ highs with Gasoline leading to downside as Libya output and profit-taking weigh – but Natty is adding small to its 8% ripper yesterday.   Softs are all weaker early – Some concerns building about Navarro and his China Stance weighing on US Ag Exports.

Innovation-driven hotel to provide guests a new mobile experience with StayNTouch’s Cloud-Based PMS Solutions

Bethesda, Maryland (PRWEB) December 22, 2016

StayNTouch, an innovator in mobile technology and Property Management Systems (PMS) for hotels, announced the deployment of its Rover PMS™ and Zest™ solutions at Hotel on Rivington, a 108-room luxury hotel in New York City, New York.

“Once we saw the Rover PMS interface, we knew right away that we would select StayNTouch,” said Daniel Tennant, General Manager at Hotel on Rivington. “Our former PMS was very challenging to use. When checking guests in, the staff could never raise their heads to look the guest in the eye because of all the screens that they had to click through. With StayNTouch, the process takes far fewer steps, and has enhanced our entire welcome and check-in experience. Plus, as it can run on a tablet, we can do everything on the fly. Even off-site, I can monitor guest activity and revenue performance then make adjustments accordingly.”

“Ultimately, this technology choice is to improve the guest experience,” continued Daniel. “For example, our housekeepers now update rooms status through Rover Housekeeping on their mobile devices, so the front office staff and guests have up-to-the-minute room availability information. That means guests get to their rooms faster.”

StayNTouch offers hotels the opportunity to integrate multiple cloud-solutions on one platform:· Rover PMS™: Next generation Hotel PMS, fully cloud, fits on every device, optimizes hotel operations from front desk, to groups, to housekeeping to revenue management. Simple monthly pricing that includes training, integrations and configuration.
· Zest™: Enables guest pre-engagement and guest services via mobile web. Guest-enabled mobile check-in & out via smart phone or desktop. Private labeled, PMS-integrated mobile check-in &/or checkout. Bill review, preference collection, upsell opportunities, and remote key fulfillment. Promote and monetize late checkouts.

“We are delighted to be working with the team at Hotel on Rivington,” said Jos Schaap, CEO-Founder of StayNTouch, “The hotel operates in a very competitive market where a hotel’s success is dependent upon its ability to deliver innovation and differentiation in the guest experience. Hotel on Rivington is a service leader in part because the team recognizes that technology should enhance staff/guest interactions and not be a barrier. We are proud to be a part of their service delivery.”

Grupo Pesquera Joins Folio Fine Wine Partners

The pioneering “Master of Tempranillo” joins prestigious national importer

Napa, California (PRWEB) December 22, 2016

Folio Fine Wine Partners is proud to announce Ribera del Duero pioneer Alejandro Fernández and Grupo Pesquera join the national importer, effective January 1, 2017. Grupo Pesquera’s portfolio includes the properties of Tinto Pesquera and Condado de Haza (D.O. Ribera del Duero), El Vínculo (D.O. La Mancha) and Dehesa la Granja (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León). The agreement expands Folio’s presence in the Spanish category and positions the business for continued growth in its second decade of business.

The Fernández family is excited to continue to build upon the family’s success in the US market: “We are happy to join Folio Fine Wine Partners, an established and reputable national importer who shares our philosophy and my father’s commitment to excellence. The business that Michael Mondavi and his family have built over the last decade, together with the management team led by CEO Paolo Battegazzore, has us feeling very positive for the partnership ahead.”

Folio Co-Founder Michael Mondavi echoed the sentiment, stating:
“It is a pleasure to welcome Alejandro Fernández, his daughters, and the entire Grupo Pesquera team to the Folio family. Alejandro is one of Spain’s great winemakers, and the family’s wines are a perfect complement to our Spanish representation. What is most impressive is Alejandro’s respect for the soil and the unique expressions of the terroir of his four properties through the single variety of Tempranillo. The wines showcase the true pioneering spirit of Alejandro, and this addition aligns with our vision to represent the very best family owned and managed producers from across the world’s leading wine regions. We look forward to representing the Fernández family and further expand their reputation and sales in the U.S. market.”

Considered by many to be a living icon of modern Spanish wine, Alejandro Fernández established Bodegas Tinto Pesquera in Ribera del Duero in 1972, and has been hugely influential in the resurgence of this important wine-producing region.

The critical acclaim received from the outstanding quality of the wines was instrumental in Ribera del Duero receiving DO status in 1984, and its ongoing recognition as a producer of quality wine, much due to the tireless work of Alejandro Fernández and his focus on excellence.

The four estates comprise exclusively Tempranillo with the exception being El Vínculo in Campo de Criptana (D.O. La Mancha), that also produces Alejairén, the only La Mancha white wine aged in oak. Today the estates are run and managed by Alejandro’s four daughters and second generation – Lucía, Olga, Maria Cruz, and Eva.

With 11 wines in the portfolio, the wines range in retail price from $19 for Dehesa La Granja and El Vínculo, up to $145 for the limited edition Tinto Pesquera “Millenium,” the latter produced at Alejandro’s original winery. Wines are available nationally through fine wine retailers across the US.

About Grupo Pesquera: http://www.grupopesquera.com
Named after Alejandro’s hometown, “Pesquera,” the four bodegas that comprise Alejandro Fernández’s wine legacy, and constitute Grupo Pesquera, share a passion for winemaking that has been perfected over time. The strong bond to this great winemaker’s homeland is also reflected in the group emblem: the symbolic Archway and Tower of Pesquera de Duero, the characteristic label on his mythical Tinto Pesquera wines. Numerous awards endorse our wines; awards reaped throughout our 40 years of experience in winemaking. It is, without doubt, a dream come true for Alejandro Fernández whose maxim was always to own a bodega and make fine wines. Today it could be said that reality has surpassed the dream and that Alejandro, his bodegas, and his wines have earned worldwide recognition and appreciation. Twitter: @grupopesquera

                                                                                                                                                         PRESS RELEASE

*Mithra launches ITS product Tibelia* ^[1] *on the GLOBAL market*

· *Mithra Pharmaceuticals received 14 Marketing Authorizations (MA) in 12 European countries for its product based on tibolone.*
· *Mithra should receive shortly 3 more authorizations for France, Italy and Greece.*
· *Tibelia received 24 months' shelf-life and should be able to extend this to 36 months in 2017, what would give the product a unique advantage on the market and would make it more competitive than its competitors.*
· *In 2016, Mithra signed 8 License and Supply Agreements.*
· *Mithra expects to sign other agreements with Ukraine, Russia, Chile, Singapore, France and Switzerland.*
· *Mithra estimates, according to the sales forecasts of his distributors, incomes in double digit for the next five years.*

*Liège, Belgium, 22 December 2016* - Mithra Pharmaceuticals, a company focused on Women's Health, announces today that it obtained 14 Marketing Authorizations for the commercialization of its product Tibelia in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Mithra is still waiting for 3 MA in France, Greece and Italy that should be received by the beginning of 2017.

The product based on tibolone developed by Mithra will be more competitive due to its extended shelf-life.

*Valérie Gordenne, CSO Mithra Pharmaceuticals:* " At this stage, we believe we can justify a shelf-life of 36 months versus 24 months for the competitors. Currently, data are available on 24 months for the pilot batches. Trends show a possible stability extension. The results are confirmed on the first industrial batch (18 months). The best stability of the active ingredient in the formulation is linked to specific components of this formulation, for which a patent has been applied."

In 2016, Mithra signed 8 License and Supply Agreements in the United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Benelux, Australia, South Africa, Canada and Finland for a total amount in double digit, down payments included. In 2017, Mithra expects to sign other agreements with Ukraine, Russia, Chile, Singapore and France

In United Kingdom, marketing is already effective, as well as it will be effective in Spain and Holland in January 2017.

*François Fornieri CEO Mithra Pharmaceuticals:* "Obtaining a Marketing Authorization for a product candidate is a real recognition of the unique expertise of our team in terms of development and regulatory affairs. Tibelia is set to be a competitor on the European market. It is indeed a 'complex' therapeutical solution as tibolone, the active ingredient involved, is known as a particularly unstable active ingredient, presenting many challenges in terms of development. Obtaining marketing authorisations for such a product is a significant validation for Mithra's development and regulatory expertise, which was previously demonstrated in the development of Mithra's first R&D projects developed in the past, and which will continue to serve it well as it continues to develop and prepare the regulatory pathway for its lead products based on Estetrol."

The global market of tibolone is an attractive and growing market of EUR 131 million ^[2] , accounting for an increase of 4.3% in value ^[3] . In terms of volume, this market represents 315 million tablets, up 2% ^[4] .

*About Tibelia*

Tibelia is a synthetic steroid (tibolone) intended to be used for hormone replacement therapy. Tibelia is a product that mimics the activity of the female sex hormones in the body, and is used especially for the relief of symptoms occurring after menopause. In some countries, this product is also used for the prevention of osteoporosis. It has been demonstrated that tibolone has favourable effects on various tissues in the body, such as brain, vagina and bone ^[5] .

Dear Evan Hansen:

I've been really lucky with iconic Broadway musicals. I saw Les Miz in London and again at the Kennedy Center long before it came to Broadway. I saw a preview of "Rent" in the East Village. I saw a dress rehearsal of "Ragtime." And best of all, I saw "Hamilton" at the Public. And last night at the Music Box Theater I saw "Dear Evan Hansen," and though it wasn't an early performance--like those in Washington and at the Second Stage--it did feature one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen including all of the above.

In today's Times, Katherine Rossman has a "Styles" feature on the gossip writer and Trump-and-Roy Cohn-and-George-Steinbrenner-and-Rupert-Murdoch-lover, Cindy Adams. In its opening scene, Adams can be heard (read?) complaining that there are no boldface names at her performance of the show. Sad! (though I imagine this is a typical reaction of Trump lovers to any cultural event that does not invite pussy-grabbing and peeping-tomming backstage (An aside: What she does get are " Justin Paul and Benj Pasek, the composers of the musical and also the lyricists of the film "La La Land." I saw LaLa Land right before the show. It almost made me late. It was great, though not I imagine, if you are the kind of person who loves any or all of the above. When I saw it, we were kitty-corner from Carol Burnett. But I digress...) Anyway, "Dear Evan..." is directed by Michael Greif with a book by Steven Levenson. It has a wonderful cast featuring Mike Faist, Laura Dreyfuss. Rachel Bay Jones, Michael Park, Jennifer Laura Thompson and Kristolyn Lloyd. Butt the reason I would, if I were you, pony up for tickets right this minute were I you is Ben Platt, who stars as the 17-year-old misfit after whom this musical is named.

Talk about a star being born.... This is a performance that will leave you speechless, both for its acting chops and the power and pathos of his voice. "Dear Evan" will be a really good, near great play once Platt moves on to other things one day, but in the meantime, it is just incredible. The plot has to do with fitting in in high school, social media misfires, teen suicide, etc. When I described it to my kid, a freshman in college, she said "That sounds really lame, dad." And I concur. But in action, with this terrific score--I really liked the band playing in the balcony--and the spot-on performances by the cast members supporting Platt, it is a riveting and unforgettable night at the theater, with the added bonus of Something to Think About after the performance. The sets, are pretty wonderful too, especially at the end, and the use of constant Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and whatever (Snapchat?) feeds that that cover the stage throughout the action give the whole night make it feel surreal and ethereal at the same time; reminding you that it's both real and unreal--old-fashioned and new-fangled--all at the same time. Just go, if you can afford it. I know these are tough times and Broadway musical prices, well, I've said enough.

Also, I caught the matinee performance of the Loser's Lounge tribute to Elton John this weekend, which, to my surprise, featured a bunch of kids from School of Rock. It was pretty fun. Most of the kids had interesting personas already, including some scary sex appeal. All of them were weirdly poised on stage though I don't understand why the drummer of their band thought it wise to come in his pajamas. That is just a dumb look. Anyway, the show focused, as one would expect, on 70s Elton and almost all those songs are great. And LL is always fun so if you can, do. The next show is "Philly Soul." Not-Live
Mosaic Classic Box Sets

My friends at Mosaic, the world's most completist collector of Jazz on cd and vinyl have lived up to their uniquely demanding standards once again this year with two massive releases.

The first is called "Classic Savoy Be-Bop Sessions 1945-49," and it features ten cds of just that (minus the Charlie Parker Savoy recordings which are readily available elsewhere. This collection is focused on the other bebop artists signed by Teddy Reig for Savoy and feaures an amazing array of great artists leading their first recording sessions ever. Among these are: Dexter Gordon, Kai Winding, Allen Eager, J.J. Johnson (including sideman Cecil Payne's first recordings ever), Stan Getz, Sonny Stitt and Kenny Dorham, Ray Brown, Fats Navarro, Ray Brown, Serge Chaloff, Kenny Hagood, Leo Parker, and Brew Moore. But that's not all. Also included are reputation-making sessions for Tadd Dameron (both under his name and on another session led by Navarro), Howard McGhee, Kenny Clarke, and Milt Jackson.

The set gives you all the history and recording data you could wish for. There's the background on the amazing Mr. Reig in an essay by Bob Porter, who worked alongside him on earlier reissues, an informative essay by Neil Tesser as well as all of the musicians and the dates and details of their recordings as only the pefectionists at Mosaic know how to do it. The included photos are by Francis Wolff, and many have never been published before this. The set includes 216 tracks from 34 sessions across 10 CDs, with lots of alternate takes. With all that, it will certainly last you for the rest of your life, however long that may be. I'm still not even halfway through.

Also thanks to Mosaic we've got eight cds of Eddie Condon & Bud Freeman's Complete Commodore & Decca Sessions. If you are unfamiliar with them, they were Chicago-based jazz pioneers who adapted New Orleans/Dixieland styles to their own purposes. The eight cds contain 199 tracks recorded through 1950.
Mosaic's sleuths have searched out every available LP and 78 from collector sources to augment what exists in the record label vaults, then painstakingly transferred them using state-of-the-art 24-bit digital technology. You can hear these guys playing alongside Bobby Hackett, Jack Teagarden, Pee Wee Russell, Jess Stacy, Artie Shapiro, George Wettling, Vernon Brown, Joe Buskin, Lionel Hampton, Joe Sullivan, Clyde Newcome, Dave Tough, Billy Butterfield, Max Kaminsky, James P. Johnson, Peanuts Hucko, Ralph Sutton, Ed Hall, Yank Lawson, and others.

Naturally, there's a 40 page booklet with an interesting essay by Dan Morgenstern, the typically exhaustive and accurate Mosaic discography and rare photos and of course, lots and lots of alternate takes. As with most of these sets, it is limited to 5,000 sets, period.

Finally, Nonsuch has put together Nonesuch three cds of The Randy Newman Songbook in its own little box. The first two CDs, which feature the great man doing solo piano versions of his best known songs first arrived in 2003 and 2011 respectively. Now we've got 16 additional songs from a new volume plus five bonus tracks, including the totally great "Feels Like Home" and "A Wedding in Cherokee County." For the record, I got a chance to talk to Randy at some length at a party a couple of years ago and I asked him if he had a favorite version of one of his songs by someone else. He answered pretty quickly: Nina Simone's "I Think It's Going to Rain Today."
