Homestead’s Portofino Coal Fired Pizza Turns 4 Years Old
Homestead, Florida (PRWEB) December 06, 2013
This holiday season Portofino Coal Fired Pizza celebrates 4 years as Homestead’s original coal fired ovens. Long before the national brands moved into the quaint south Florida town, Portofino Coal Fired Pizza introduced the area to their Italian home cooking in an upscale-casual atmosphere that has earned it a place in the hearts and lives of Homestead locals and visitors seeking the perfect retreat for good food and good cheer. Since the family-owned restaurant’s holiday opening in 2009, dining patrons have savored the distinctive smoky flavors and aromas of new and traditional Italian specialties prepared in coal fired. At 700 degrees inside the ovens food is quickly seared on the outside and juicy flavorful inside. Whether its meatballs or wings, specialty pizzas, appetizers or strombolis, the high oven temperatures produce delicious, crispy crust and smoky, flavorful meats and vegetables.
In addition to the 4th anniversary celebration PCFP welcomes Joseph Guercio a.k.a. “Joey Pasta” as the new General Manager. Joey has more than 40 years of experience and has served as an Italian specialty chef in North Carolina and more recently in Hollywood, FL. Joey brings to PCFP a love for fresh ingredients, a lifetime of authentic Italian recipes and a heightened awareness for prompt, personal customer service.
Portofino Coal Fired Pizza makes all the breads, meatballs, soups and sauces fresh each morning because “Fresh is the secret ingredient!” stated Joey Pasta. Other made-on-the-premises specialties include Joey’s perfect parmigianas and pastas, specialty pizzas, sausages and peppers, amazing appetizers and really big salads for lunch or dinner. Big local favorites include the Veggie Extravaganza Pizza, Pasta Bolognese Portofino, Fettuccine Carbonara, Broccoli Rabe and Sausage and the house special Chicken Parmigiana with Fettuccine Alfredo. If there’s still room, a selection of unique dessert pizzas, Italian donuts and fresh espresso, cappuccino and coffee is always offered.
For the connoisseur, an extensive wine list is available as is a full bar setting within the restaurant’s very comfortable ambiance of warm, welcoming colors, scenes of Italy, wrought iron and natural stacked stone. Outdoor dining is also available on the covered patio.
PCFP is off the beaten path, nestled within Portofino Plaza in the SW corner of Campbell Drive and Florida Turnpike exit #2. Its’ easy access and ample parking makes the restaurant a natural stop for groups and families, out-of-town visitors or couples seeking that special evening together. There is always a special happening at PCFP with All-You-Can-Eat Pasta Tuesdays, Date Night Fridays or Holiday, Game Day and Hump Day specials
