Following an article published by the Olive Oil Times, Bellucci Premium discusses how olive oil advocacy groups are encouraging French producers to adopt organic manufacturing processes.

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) December 09, 2013

Bellucci Premium, a producer of high-quality organic olive oil, comments on an article published by the Olive Oil Times, which discusses how olive oil advocacy groups in France are urging producers to go organic.

According to the Olive Oil Times article published on December 4th titled, “French Growers Encouraged to Go Organic,” Afidol, the International Association of Olives for France, is urging French olive oil manufacturers to adopt organic growing processes. Currently, only 12 percent of olive farms use organic farming practices, the article says. The article says that olive farmers that become certified organic are able to carry the “coveted” AB (Agriculture Biologique) logo on their labels. This logo would help consumers differentiate between pure organic olive oil and fake olive oil.

Natalie Sexenian, the marketing manager for Bellucci Premium, says many olive farmers are deterred from converting to organic practices due to financial problems and the fear of the olive fly. “The olive fly is one of the main concerns for olive farmers,” she says. “However, France has a much cooler climate than other European regions, making it a more favorable place to grow olive trees without being damaged from the olive fly. While producing olive oil in France can be expensive, switching to organic processes should not be too costly.”

Sexenian says organic olive oil represents a better, healthier product. “The best olive oils are often organic because the taste, aroma and health benefits are unprecedented,” she says. “Because French olive trees are not as susceptible to olive fly attacks, more olive farmers should make the switch to organic.”

Bellucci offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy. Reported by PRWeb 55 minutes ago.
